After 20 years there is still hope for this project!

Remember when cross stitch was all the rage!  I did my share of stitchin back in the 1980's and most all my little projects were gifts that I gave away.  However, this sampler  has been a favorite and is so so close to being finished that after 20 years there may still be hope for it!!

It is a snowy day. perfect for just spending a day cozied up in the house.
In fact, I am still in my pjs!  Darrell is working on the faux barn board wall for the basement.
I am just listening to music and getting some stitchin done, reading some blogs and having a relaxing day.  Hope your week end goes well and that you are maybe getting some long over due projects done as well.   Also, wondering if anyone has read any good books lately??  Thanks for sharing if you have.

A BIG COOK!

I enjoy working in my kitchen and all the room it provides...

Remember what it looked like {Before}

This is what it looks like all cleaned up and just sittin pretty like....

And this is what it looks like when the Motzs do a BIG COOK!

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit and we made a big batch of perogies.

Everyone got in on the assembly line...

Lots of hand made the work go quick!

At the end of the Big Cook,  we enjoyed Hungarian Goulash that Florian made and of course
a whole bunch of perogies!  4 families took home about 3 dozen perogies each.
We will meet again when we need to replenish the freezer!

Here is the recipe using a potatoe mix for the dough:

 4 cups flour
3 cups cooled mashed potaotes
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs ( beat before adding them to the dough)

For the filling we mixed togethere
bacon, cheddar cheese, mashed potatoes, onion and dry cottage cheese

A new spot to decorate

Well after the Christmas tree and decorations came down I was left with a very empty corner by the railing ...   I had moved the old wash tub stand that we made into a coffee table simply by adding a glass cut top,  to the fireplace area.  We both really like that piece in this area of the sitting room, so it will stay put.

I was leaning towards a round table, something that may have a bit of an industrial farmhouse look .  I headed down to a great little shop called {Real Deals} and was not disappointed by some of the new items they had just brought into the store.

Taken with my Iphone...

Here is the little table the great saleslady helped me find!
A little bit of medal, a little bit of faux wood grain on the top
Perfect for this spot!

I just shopped my house for the items to arrange on the table.

A mixture of different textures but all in the same color pallet

I can check this corner off the list !

We are looking at doing a slat wood wall downstairs...
Stay tuned for that project!

Have a great week everyone!

A look back at our Pinterest project inspirations!

There are soooo many ideas on Pinterest!  You can plan a whole wedding, get ideas for just about any topic, recipes galore, not to mention the great clothing and hair style boards you can pin to.

Our family had a few successful Pinterest projects in 2014 so here is a re cap!

There was a whole {wedding} to help plan....

Ben made this great {Love} board and it now hangs in the newlyweds house

The guest room finally got finished and is ready for company!

Christmas decorating and a festive look for my favorite windows

Some barn board {NOEL}

Darrell's contribution to a {Modern Christmas}

Pallet letters with a whitewash finish

Jami's easy project of sticks in a black frame.

Barn doors are all the rage and I love ours that hides the laundry room.
Great job Darrell!

We have some ideas on the go for the new year!
So many ideas, so little time and energy!

How about you, did you have some successful projects this past year.

Barn Collective

Just a quick post to link up over at Barn Collective tonight.  This picture was taken with my Iphone from the car window as we were heading home from Kelowna after Christmas.  Not too bad for a drive by!!  It was a overcast, foggy day with some light snow fall.  Since getting home, Kelowna has received lots of snow!!  Glad we made it home before it was a problem.

Snow has been falling over night and most of the day here in Southern Alberta.
Winter wonderland out there!
