Friday Fences- Solitude

Solitude at a prairie graveyard...

This photo was taken a number of years ago already when there was a Motz family reunion.
There is a very small country graveyard close to the community of Spondin and that is where I captured this picture that I am sharing over at Friday Fences

Have a great day everyone!
Yeah!  ITs Friday!

Barns = photo happiness!

Wow!  It is already July 23rd!  The summer is going way to fast for me.  I find myself reflecting alot on where we were last year at this time.  We had made the move from Hanna, our life of 25 years, and things were exciting and scary all at the same time as we started getting settled in our new place.

I was filled with worry and fear as we waited for the property in Hanna to sell, there were ups and downs with the offer that finally was accepted, Darrell was still going back to work at the mine, there seemed like a mountain of work here, a kitchen to remodel when I had just left a beautiful kitchen behind, new jobs and co workers to get to know, .....

BUT!  I am so glad that I held on for the ride,,,,,not to well at times, but I held on anyways !  God has been faithful in so many things.  TRUST was the word that I would often just keep repeating to myself as I struggled through some of last summer.

I know that this is the place we are suppose to be for the next season of our lives though....we have been blessed with new and old friends here, jobs,  a wonderful church, family dinners and get togethers, since we are on the trans Canada hiway now we have been blessed with more family stopping in as they scoot across the prairies, and a new kitchen here as well!!  (pics of our reno to follow soon!)

Anyways... the reason for my post is Barn Charm and Mosaic Monday...so be sure to stop by these blogs to see some great photos!  After this I am off to see my new great nephew!!  He made his appearance and I need to get in a baby cuddle!!

We attended a wedding and on the way stopped to get a photo of quite a few barns...

Some editing fun in Picmonkey...so glad that you can edit your collage without having to go back n forth on your screens!  Thank you Picmonkey people!!

Have a great day everyone! and thanks for stopping by the country!

Happenings around the farm...

It is hard to believe that it is a year ago that we moved !  Yikes, I really don't know where the time has gone.  Even though we spent 25 years at our farm in Hanna, it amazes me how settled we feel at our new "farm".  Our land in Hanna is rented out, and I am so glad  that area of the province has had good moisture.  The 1/4 that we own here is rented and planted as well.  It is so different having irrigated land,  seeing the fields being watered and not being so dependant on rain is something that farmer Darrell is amazed by!!

Another shot of our little red hip roof barn...its small, but I love it!!

There is a small field that Darrell put up for hay, so he did get some farming in as well.  Can't take the farmer out of the boy!!

Time of the year on the prairies where you will see lots of bales in the fields

SASKSATOONS ARE READY!!

You are all welcome to come and pick some!  Last year, with just moving, trying to sell our property in Hanna, and all the other stresses associated with that, the Saskatoon patch {acre} didn't get much of our attention.  But, this year is a whole lot less hectic and we will enjoy some of this wonderful harvest. I think there are about a bizzillion berries out there and I kinda have A.D.D when picking them!!  Here is one thats big,,here is one thats big,,here is one that is BIGGER!!  I guess I have to take Pickin 101 to stay on track!  I do have a lady coming in to pick though,,,,she will pick and in payment she will share the crop with me.

Purple goodness!

Made a delicious Saskatoon crisp , I think there will be lots of those this summer!

This "photo shoot" took place in the rock tree bed I am working on.
Found a rock with a heart right in it!

A few things I {heart} today:
~ a day off from work  :)
~ God's goodness in the form of berries!
~ a pleasant day to work outside

Have a great week end everyone!

A diamond in the rough,

Hello everyone!  Hope your week has gone well!  Happy "belated " Canada Day to all you Canadians and Happy 4th of July to the American peeps out there!!

The flood waters have receded in Medicine Hat and people are trying to get their lives back!  So many people have lost everything in Southern Alberta...it is so heartbreaking.  Keeping them in our prayers.

Remember the "free" dresser we found when our friends were visiting?   Well, my neice in law, Heidi, has started her own business !  She is the one responsible for bringing some new life back to this little dresser!  Sharalynn is so happy with the results...in fact, she has already found another cast off and has delivered it to Heidi to work her magic again!

Check out Rustic Barnyard, Heidi's little place in cyberworld, where Rustic meets Country!

Drum roll please....

{AFTER}

Reading Heidi's blog has been a fun way to get to know what makes her creativity click!  She is a busy wife, mother to 3 little peeps, and is also finding a way to start a business!  I wish her all the very best as she visits Farmer's Markets, does chalk paint classes in her home, makes contacts with people, and grows her business.

Here are a few more of some of my favorites....stop by her blog and say "Hi..Auntie Dawna sent me!!"

Have a great day everyone!  and thanks for stopping by the country!
