Move your feet!

Hello everyone!  I started my day by reading a quote from my friend's facebook page:

Do not expect God to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet"

Well, we have had some very interesting things happening in our life, and we will be movin our feet so to speak!  We have purchased some land just 8 minutes outside of Medicine Hat and will be selling our acreage here in Hanna.  YIKES!!!  we are super excited to be getting closer to family there and that is where Kaleb and Jami will be calling home once they are married.  ( 4 weeks until the wedding!! another YIKES!)    So, after 25 years in this home, we are venturing off on a new adventure.  Of course you can't move the country peeps to town too soon, so we are thankful for the quater of land we are purchasing there to still live in the country!

Now it is to be patient and wait for the perfect buyer to come along for our 20.3 acres here.  Note I said the word "patient"!  Not the best at that sometimes, but we are hanging on for the ride!

I am working on a slideshow for Kaleb's wedding.  I asked my parents to send me some pictures and included in them was the picture below.  I grew up as a PK "preacher's kid" and this is the first church that my parents pastored at.  A little country church in the town of Esk, SK.    I moved a few times growing up and at times it was hard to leave familar things behind, I am thankful for the many wonderful friends I met at each place we lived.    I know that there are many good things ahead for Darrell and I and for our family.

Have a great day!

PicMonkey here to replace Picnik

Yeahhhh..there is a replacement for Picnik!!  It is called PicMonkey, so you can check it out.  Very easy to use and has many of the same features as our beloved Picnik had.  Collage feature and more is still coming although it  doesn't really say much about cost yet?  Right now it is free, but there is a bit of an upgrade you can take with it but I did not see a price when I clicked on that?

Anyways, here are some barn charm edits for you using PicMonkey.  Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Waiting for doors to open or close....

Hello everyone!!  I haven't been on my blog much,,,,I get thinking about doing a post and then get busy with something else, only to think when I am in bed or on my way to work "Oh yeah, I was going to post on my blog".....jeesh, I don't know how some of you keep up so well.

Anyways, Darrell and I had a great week away in California a couple of weeks ago.  Here are a few of my favorite shots...a few of doors or gates.    We are praying about a bit of a change that may happen in our lives...so are waiting for doors to open or close.  Praying about it, trying not to be anxious, trying to be wise in our decision and just feeling overwhelmed at times too.  Deep down wanting the door to open and hoping we won't be disappointed if it doesn't...but needing to trust.  Anyone been down that road before  :)

So, hope you enjoy the pics and have a great week!

Just a little scoop!

I was at  Home Sense this past week while in Calgary and I found the best little measuring scoops for the glass jars I keep on my counter for sugar, brown sugar, tea bags, flour,,,, and the best jar, #5, the cookie jar!  As you can see by the picture below #5 is lackin a little love these days.  Darrell and I are trying to eat healthy and keep the sugar intake a little lower...hence,nothin exciting going on in jar #5  :)

I just used my Cricut to make the numbers and glued them onto the jars.

I have noticed that alot of kitchens have these "modern country" looking canisters so thought I would just share that you can find the cute little scoops at HomeSense.  I guess I hadn't really looked for them there before and was totally pleased when I came across them.

So there is the scoop everyone!
and now you know where you might find this cute little item if needed.

What was in your grocery cart today?

Lovin this old brick GROCERY STORE....
Wonder what prices would have been back when this was the new store on the block?

Hope everyone is having a great week end!  I was busy in the kitchen today.  Made a pan of brownies to go along with some freezer meals I had made up for a friend who is a new mommy.   I delivered my bag of goodies and met the cute little miss B.  She is adorable and mom and dad are very pleased with their sweet little girl.

Made it to the gym,,,to work off the brownies I just had to sample before giving some away...and also hit the grocery store.   BBQ chicken pizza made it to the menu for supper as chicken breasts were on sale.
Fired up my little George Foreman grill and got busy grilling up the chicken,,,some to use for the pizza and some to go in the fridge for salad, pasta dish, whatever I decide.  I like when I get organized and have stuff ready to go.

Here are a couple more shots of the grocery store we found in Medicine Hat
Makes you wonder who F. Scudder was?

So, what is your favorite recipe to make for a quick meal?
We could have a blogger recipe swap.
Have a great evening everyone!

What to do....

RED n RUSTIC

By now some of you who use Picnik for editing fun have heard that they are closing!!!  I think they said something like "the ants have invaded"!!  That is sooo disappointing to me!  I know there are other editing programs out there and I will recover, but I found Picnik so user friendly.  Oh well,,,,I guess it is good to keep the ole brain processing new things right!!

So, here is my Mosiac Monday collection, of course done in Picnik!   So my question is does anyone have any other favorite editing programs out there.  How hard is it to use Adobe Photoshop?  Give me the scoop fellow photographer lovers!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Mosaic Monday

Its Monday...time for a mosaic of some pictures that I took out of the window while travelling to BC this Christmas.   I didn't notice until I had the pictures on the computer, how there is just a bit of sunshine coming along the tree line in the first picture.  It was kinda bleak and overcast, but was nice to see the sun trying to peak through.

Wishing you Sunshine in your week ahead!

Happy New Year !!

Hello blogger friends!  I hope you have had a great Christmas with family and friends and that you are all ready for a great 2012!!

I haven't really been doing much on the computer these past few weeks, but with getting back into a bit of a routine I was glad to catch up on visiting some of you.

Tried out another header!!  Super easy to change up, so I hope you like my "winter"shots.  Even though, there is no snow here!!!  It is a pretty brown landscape all over the province and I don't like it!!  Bring on the snow please!  If it is going to be winter, I like seeing lots of the white stuff.   I know there is lots of winter to come yet, so I won't get too excited.

The photo below is one that I took out of the window of the car while travelling to BC this Christmas.  It is taken by Mara Lake.  I love this little bit of the shoreline, it has changed over the years though as the little "mom and pop" cabins have been bought out by larger condo units.  I like the little "mom and pop" cottages better.

Wishing you all a great week and hope you will stop by to let me know what you have been up to.
